Do you follow Epiphany on Facebook? I highly recommend giving Epiphany a follow if you don't already. It's a great way to find out information about what is going on in the school. Right now, as a part of Catholic School's Week, we are having a bulletin board contest. Each classroom decorated the bulletin board in the hallway. The class with the most "likes" on Facebook will be the winner but it only goes until 8am tomorrow morning (Friday). If you haven't already, please give our bulletin board a like and share it with others!

Yesterday morning, were so excited to welcome Ms. Julie Ramski, the Director of Early Childhood for Archdiocese of Chicago. She came to read us some stories and lead us in some songs. Thank for coming to Epiphany, Ms. Julie!
I am so glad that so many parents were able to join us this morning for our Family Appreciation Breakfast. We all ate a lot of yummy food! This morning, our preschoolers went on a scavenger hunt the classroom. With a partner, they looked for an assigned color. This is an easy activity to do at home, as well. Simply ask your preschooler to find something in the house that is a certain color. You could also add some extra things to look for. For example, you might ask your preschooler to find something that's red and small. Or, you might ask your preschooler to find something that's purple and shaped like a circle. What a fun day! Today, for Catholic School's Week, we had a pajama day. We attended the pep rally at the end of the day for Student Appreciation Day. And, we worked on a project along with Ms. Kaitlyn's class: a tablecloth. This tablecloth will be uses at tomorrow's Parent Appreciation breakfast!
Today, we celebrated the 100th day of school! With Ms. Kaitlyn's class we made towers using 100 cups, decorated hats, colored a certificate, and sorted 10 groups of 10 items to make 100. It was a very fun day! This afternoon, we went down to the gym to check out the Scholastic Book Fair. It will be open all day Friday, Sunday during the Open House, and Monday morning. As you can see from the pictures, our preschoolers are very excited about this book fair! Today, we added "snow" in the sensory table. It's not real snow but is "insta-snow". "Insta-snow" is a powder that reacts to water. It feels like snow but doesn't melt. That allows us to have plenty of time to play without having to worry about the snow melting and making a mess. So far, this is proving to be a very popular addition to our classroom.
This week, we added several new items into our centers that allow our preschoolers to do some exploration with color. We have added the light board as a center. At the light board, the preschoolers can explore using pattern blocks. In our Science center, our preschoolers have two new boxes of materials to explore. These items allow the students to explore how colors can combine to make new colors.
Yesterday, we began a new unit of study: The World of Color. Today, we did one of our first explorations using color. We painted! These paintings are amazing. They are all so different. Please stop by our room during the Open House for Catholic School's Week so that you can see the finished paintings on display!
