One of the best things about fall? There are so many leaves to play with! The weather has been unusually mild this week and we were able to take advantage of that. Check out the pictures of preschool and kindergarten playing in the leaves on Tuesday. We had so much fun!

We did a taste test of some cranberry sauce last Monday. The results? This class is a big fan of cranberry sauce!
This afternoon, our preschool students presented their Thanksgiving Program along with our Kindergarten friends. The preschoolers have been working very hard on the songs that we performed. Great job, preschoolers!
We didn't have time to decorate our pinata since we needed to break it open before Thanksgiving. However, it was still fun to break it open! It was a tough pinata. It took many swings from our preschoolers to finally break it open. During small group last week, one of our activities was preparing a class pinata. We read the book, Hooray, a PInata!, last week. Each group rotated throughout the week so that every preschooler was able to add to the pinata. This week, we will break it open!
Has your preschooler been talking about our Thanksgiving program? We have been working on songs and poems for the program for several weeks and are so excited to share them with you! On Wednesday, we practiced on the stage for the first time. It's going to be a great program! We hope to see you on Tuesday!
Today, the preschoolers used liquid watercolor paints. They dripped the watercolor paints onto coffee filters. These coffee filters will become the feathers for turkeys that we will complete tomorrow. The preschoolers had fun experimenting the colors.
Thank you to all families who sent in their turkey feathers. Our turkey looks amazing! You can see him on display on our bulletin board in the hallway. If you haven't brought in your family's turkey feathers, you can still bring them in. We would love to add those feathers to our turkey!
This year, election day did not alter much in the Chicago area. However, we still did our yearly election that we do each year in our preschool classroom. We voted for a name for our turkey! The numbers were pretty close! You can see Turkey Face the turkey on display in the hallway outside of our classroom.
On Tuesday, we had some visitors in our classroom for Lend a Shoulder Day with the Big Shoulders Fund. They joined us for a story and then some painting. The paintings will be turkey feathers for a Thanksgiving craft.
