Happy Halloween! We had such a fun and busy day! We started our morning by decorating the bags that would hold all of our treats later in the afternoon. Of course we had to do a class photo! Look at all of these great costumes and smiling faces! After lunch, our party began. We started our party with a costume parade throughout the school. You can see a video of our parade on Epiphany's Facebook page. Following the parade, we enjoyed some yummy treats while watching It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. How should we finish up our Halloween fun-filled afternoon? How about a dance party?

Please remember, our Halloween party is tomorrow,, Wednesday, October 31st.
Some things to keep in mind:
Thank you for your assistance! Happy Halloween! This morning, we decorated water bottles. We then explored making different sounds with items inside the water bottles. We tried making loud sounds with our shakers and we tried making quiet sounds with our shakers. Thank you to all families that brought in water bottles for our shakers! This morning, we had a preview of the items available for purchase at the Scholastic Book Fair. Our preschoolers had a lot of fun finding books that they thought would be good. The Book Fair begins tomorrow and goes until 4:00pm on Wednesday.
This morning, we used our leaves from this week's leaf hunt to do a color sort. After the color sort, some of the leaves were added to our science center for further exploration.
On Tuesday, we had so much fun going on a leaf hunt with Ms. Kaitlyn's class! We found many different colors and shapes of leaves! Yesterday morning, we made tree paintings. We used construction paper for the trunk and branches and then we painted leaves. You can see the finished trees on display in the hallway.
Today, we learned how to play a new game: Alphabet Bingo! We played the game in teams of 2 or 3 preschoolers. Alphabet Bingo is a great way to practice letter recognition but it's also a great way to practice working together as a team. One of our activities in small group this week, has been making and then flying paper airplanes. We explored how throwing it in different ways changed how, or if, the paper airplane flew. Thank you to all families that sent in information about your preschooler's birth weight and height. Today, we used the birth weight information to do some comparisons. First, we made a stack of blocks that was equal to 7 pounds. (7 pounds was the average number for the birth weights.) We put those blocks in a bag and passed the bag so that we could feel what that much weight felt like. Then, we used a scale to make a comparison between birth weight and our weight today. We have all grown so much! Later this week, we will use the birth length information to make a comparison to our current height.
