This week, during small group, students are making observations of their beans and the grass seeds that they planted last week. Since they were only planted in the soil last week, there haven't been many changes. Our preschoolers are looking forward to seeing new growth happening.
Some new friends arrived Friday afternoon. During small group time, each student will be able to make observations of our caterpillars. We will watch them over the next several weeks as they grow and grow, go into a chrysallis, and become butterflies!

Yesterday was the final day of the Week of the Young Child. We celebrated by making pictures of our families. Since it was the final day of the Week of the Young Child, we had a little bit of a special treat to finish our day. We enjoyed juice boxes while watching a Schoolhouse Rock movie all about Earth Day!
Today, we talked about the importance of taking care of our planet on Earth Day but also every day. We made bird feeders for our neighborhood birds to enjoy! We will be hanging them up on the tree in the courtyard next week. Making these bird feeders is a great way to practice fine motor skills while helping our neighborhood animals. You can do this at home, too! We string cereal onto yarn and then the yarn will be placed in a tree. The birds will eat the cereal and can then use the yarn in their nests.
Today was Artsy Thursday. We celebrated by making paper sculptures. I'm amazed at the finished works that our preschoolers made. They look amazing! Tomorrow's theme: Family Friday!
Today's theme for the Week of the Young Child was Work Together Wednesday. Both preschool classes worked together to make a banner that will be on display in the hallway. Check it out when you are in the building! Tomorrow's theme is Artsy Thursday. Be on the lookout for pictures after a fun project tomorrow.
