Yesterday was graduation day for our preschoolers. We had such an amazing year and the graduation celebration is such a fun way to celebrate all that our preschoolers have accomplished throughout this school year!

I love doing photo booths with our preschoolers so it was fairly clear that we would need to do a photo booth on graduation day. Check out our preschoolers in their graduation attire. Today was the last day of school for our preschoolers. Look at how much they've grown from the first day of school until today! We took a few silly pictures, too. One of our favorite preschool activities is painting. Yesterday, since it was so warm outside, we were able to paint outside. We didn't use paint, though. We used water! It was a fun way to cool down while still working on our fine motor skills.
Today is a big day for our preschoolers. Those who are going on to Kindergarten next school year, spent some time with Mrs. Sanchez and Ms. Chavez this morning. They are so excited for Kindergarten! Those who have one more year of preschool spent some time with me and some shaving cream. It was a fun morning! Those who will be going to Kindergarten next year learned about what Kindergarten is like. And those who will be in preschool next year talked about being a leader in the classroom next year since they will be pros at preschool. Today, we were able to use many fun materials from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for a day all about insects. First, as a part of our alphabet countdown, preschoolers worked in teams to find three insects that had been hidden around the classroom. Each team had a map leading to one of the three insects. X is for "X marks the spot!" After finding the three insects using their maps, the preschoolers rotated through three different stations. Ms. Kaitlyn read stories to them about insects, they browsed nonfiction books about insects and chose several insects from the books to draw, and they worked together to complete a floor puzzle depicting the life cycle of a butterfly. When we went outside for recess, the preschoolers searched for more insects that we could look at using the plastic container. The container had a magnifying glass on the lid so that we could make some observations. |
