This week, we learned about the importance of the Sacrament of Baptism. To finish our discussion, today the students were able to bring in pictures from their Baptism. We talked about what was similar in all of the pictures and what was different. We found that in each picture, the child being baptized was wearing white. But, we also found that in each picture, the outfit that the child was wearing was a different design and that some were baptized when they were babies, some when they were toddlers, and some when they were preschoolers.

Last week, we had a resource trunk from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources that was filled with really cool animal furs. The students loved investigating the different textures. To bring a little bit of the beauty of the Church into our classroom, we made a stained glass window art project. Hopefully, once the sun comes out, this will add some fun and beautiful color to our classroom. Today, we learned some about the Winter Olympics. To celebrate, we made our own paintings using the colors of the Olympic rings. |
