We've been having a lot of fun with indoor recess this week. We've been doing lots of movement activities on GoNoodle. We've tried some new activities and done several of our favorites.
Happy Thanksgiving! To celebrate Thanksgiving, we had our annual Thanksgiving program yesterday afternoon. The preschoolers and kindergarteners worked so hard and were so excited to perform! After we performed, we were able to be part of the audience for our Kindergarten friends. Great job, Kindergarten! Happy Thanksgiving!
This morning, we did a cranberry sauce taste test. The reviews were mixed. Some really liked it. Some really, really did not like it at all. Can you guess which side your preschooler was on?
This afternoon, both preschool classes worked together to break open the piñatas that we made during small group time last week. It was a lot of work! Those piñatas were definitely well-made. They were difficult to break open but we did it! During small group this week, we worked on making a piñata! We will break it open next week. Making a piñata is a lot of work but it's definitely worth it! On Friday, we all took turns adding some color to our piñata. The preschoolers are very excited about breaking it open next week!
This week, our dramatic play center turned into a grocery store! Thank you to all families that brought in boxes and containers for us to use in the center. When a preschooler goes to the store center, they choose a job (stock clerk, manager, cashier, or customer) before they start playing. It is amazing to listen to the conversations during their play and exploration. It's been a big hit already! Yesterday afternoon, we had our first practice on the stage for our Thanksgiving program. Our program is at 2:15pm on Tuesday, November 20th. I hope that you can join us for this fun event!
Today, we had a visit from Father Dan. Both preschool classes combined to watch a short video about Our Lady of Guadalupe and then Father Dan taught us about the many different symbols in the image. Thank you, Father Dan! We learned so much! On Friday, we made books about Veteran's Day called "Brave and Proud." This is a great book to read together today, and every day!
