During the last few weeks, we have been learning a lot about light and shadows. During small group time this week, the students built a tower using blocks, made a shadow of that tower using a flashlight, and then traced the shadow on some paper. Each tower was different so each shadow looked different. To add to our exploration of light, this week the light board became a center for the students to go to during center time. The students have had a lot of fun experimenting with the Magna-Tiles on the light board.

We have gym class with Ms. B on Mondays and Fridays. We are very lucky that we also get to have an open gym time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays! This ensures that even when winter refuses to leave, we can still get some great exercise done. In these pictures, you can see the students practicing walking backwards and galloping. For some practice with counting and fine motor skills, the students made necklaces today. Each student counted out 20 beads and then strung them on the yarn. It was fun and they each got some good counting practice. |
