Today's experiment was all about wind. Each preschooler was given a straw. Then, they tried to find objects in the classroom that they could move by blowing through the straw. The preschoolers had a lot of fun testing out different objects. The straws are going home today so you can continue this experiment at home, too!

This week, during small group time, we have been exploring water and whether objects would sink or float in the water. This is an easy experiment to do at home with your preschooler! Find some objects that you want to test. Make a prediction about whether the objects will sink or float. And, then, test your predictions. Did the object sink? Did it float? Why do you think it did that?
Snow painting is always a favorite activity in preschool. Snow paint is made with shaving cream and glue. The shaving cream is very fluffy and the glue helps the shaving cream to keeps some of it's puffy shape. We had a lot of fun painting snowy scenes today. Today, we played a fun game as we explored wind. Each preschooler had a partner and they took turns trying to pass a cotton ball to their partner by blowing on the cotton ball. The partner then tried to catch the cotton ball. It was a fun and silly way to explore wind.
I hope that your family had a lovely Christmas! We celebrated Christmas during our party on the Friday before break. We started with some dancing and singing along with some jingle bell songs. Next, we enjoyed a snack while watching the movie The Star. Finally, we enjoyed several different treats. Yum!
