Yesterday, we had some special visitors for a story time. They read two fun books to us and then the preschoolers were given coloring books and bookmarks to color. Before they left, they gave each preschooler a bag full of books to take home! What a fun morning!

We are working on an alphabet countdown in our classroom. Every day, we do an activity that starts with that day's letter. It's a fun way to try new things while also reviewing our letters. Tuesday's letter was I. I is for Imagination! Preschoolers were able to explore with many different materials to make a piece of artwork using their imagination.
Yesterday, the early childhood teachers held our first Marvelous Monday! It was a lot of fun! Marvelous Mondays are free and open to any child 2-5 years old. This is a great way to introduce new children to Epiphany. It's also a fun way for our current preschoolers to have the chance to do some fun activities after school. I hope to see you and your preschooler at our next Marvelous Monday: Monday, May 15th from 3:30-4:30. And, if you know any families with young children who might be interested in our Marvelous Mondays, please pass this information on to them as well.
Last week, we began a large project. On Monday, the preschoolers' bodies were traced out on paper. On Tuesday, I cut out the paper preschoolers. Last Wednesday and Thursday, the preschoolers added their faces, hair, clothes, etc. to their paper self. You can see them hanging in the hallway. They all look great!
Our caterpillars have grown a lot in just a few days! The preschoolers have been making observations of the caterpillars during small group time and they have been drawing what they see in their journals.
Although, it quickly became cloudy and the temperature started to go down some, our time outside for recess last Wednesday was fantastic! It was such a beautiful spring day! |
