Today's alphabet countdown activity was all about numbers! We took turns throwing a dice. Whatever number came up was the number of jumps that we did. It was a great way to practice number recognition and also do some exercise!

This morning, we did some more measuring. Once again, we used the pieces of yarn that have been cut to our heights and used them to find out our heights compared to objects in the classroom. The preschoolers had a lot of fun doing some more measuring! The pieces of yarn went home today so you can do more measuring at home. Today's activity for the alphabet countdown was making music with our instruments. We all played instruments and tried to play them quietly and loudly. Playing the instruments loudly was definitely the favorite. Last week was mostly rainy and gloomy so it was wonderful to have such a beautiful spring day today! We went on a walk around the school to find some signs of spring. We saw leaves on trees and many blooming flowers!
Sometime over the weekend, each of our caterpillars went into their chrysalis! Our preschoolers are so excited for our butterflies to emerge!
During recess this morning, we brought five soccer balls outside and our preschoolers were able to do lots of kicking for our alphabet countdown. They had so much fun! Today's activity for our alphabet countdown was jumping! The preschoolers lined up at a tape line and then tried to jump as far as they could. They did a great job jumping and a great job cheering on their friends! Over the next few weeks, we will be making observations of some caterpillars. We will observe as they grow bigger and bigger, as they go into their chrysalis, and as then change into butterflies! For today's alphabet countdown activity, the preschoolers made paper sculptures. They observed different ways to manipulate some paper strips and then they started working! Yesterday, we had our Fly Up Day! This is a day when our preschool leaders for next year are all able to do an activity together and our preschoolers who will be moving on to Kindergarten get the chance to learn about being in Kindergarten. It's always a lot of fun and a very exciting day! Our preschool leaders did some shaving cream painting on the tables! Our preschoolers who will be moving on to Kindergarten had some story time with Mrs. Sanchez! |
