The preschoolers have been learning about things that grow. We have been learning about animals that hatch out of eggs. This morning, the students worked in groups of 3 or 4 peers and decided where in the classroom would be a good place to put a nest. Students worked together to make a nest in a place that would be safe. At the end of the day, we looked at which nests were the most protected during the day.
At the end of the day, the nest hidden behind the box of puppets and the nest on the shelf in blocks managed to remain safe. The students were very excited to see the nests that hadn't been bothered all day and made some great guesses about why those nests were safe at the end of the day. "It was protected." "No one could reach it." "There was nothing else there."
