We released our butterflies today. Since one of the butterflies emerged from his chrysallis on Friday, it was definitely time to release them. It's been fun to have them in our classroom but we know that they need to be outside in nature!

Today's Alphabet Countdown was N is for Numbers. Each preschooler took a turn choosing a way for the class to move (running in place, jumping, dancing, etc.) and then we rolled a dice to see how many times we would do that movement.
We are already on M for our Alphabet Countdown. The end of the year is simply zooming by! Today, we were able to explore using instruments while listening to music.
Our preschoolers are looking forward to seeing what changes will happen over the weekend. This morning, we observed one big change. One butterfly emerged from it's chrysallis!
I can't believe how quickly this year is moving! We are already on the letter J for our Alphabet Countdown. Today was: J is for Jump! Our preschoolers stood behind a line and jumped as far as they could.
Yesterday, we went on a field trip to the Chicago Children's Museum. We all had so much fun exploring the museum and then eating our lunch outside on Navy Pier. It was such a beautiful day! When we came back to school after the weekend, we noticed that our caterpillars had gone through a big change sometime over the weekend. Each one of the caterpillars had gone into their chrysallis! We are all looking forward to the caterpillars emerging as butterflies!
Today, we had our Fly Up Day! Our preschoolers who will remain in preschool next year as our leaders in the classroom, all did a craft project together with their peers from Ms. Kaitlyn's class. Our preschoolers who are moving on to Kindergarten next year, spent some time with Ms. Chavez in the Kindergarten classroom. It was a very fun morning! Today, for our Alphabet Countdown activity, we enjoyed donuts! Yummy! D is for donuts! And D is for donut sunglasses! This week, we are using yarn that has been cut to our height to compare our height to other items in the classroom. We are finding out how many blocks tall we are, or how many books tall we are. |
