Last Friday, we celebrated Read Across America Day in preschool. We joined with Ms. Kaitlyn's preschool class to do several Dr. Seuss themed activities. We made hats so that we looked like Thing 1 and Thing 2. We made towers in a pattern to resemble the Cat in the Hat's hat. We drew pictures of what we wanted to be when we grew up like in the book Oh the Places You'll Go. And we did coloring pages from One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, The Cat in the Hat, and Green Eggs and Ham. It was a very busy and very fun day!

In small group last week, the preschoolers explored shadows. They built towers with blocks and then explored how they could change the shadow by moving the flashlight. They were seeing firsthand how a shadow's size and shape can change based on where the light source is. This week, we learned that glitter sparkles because light is reflecting off of it. One of our small group activities was to paint a picture using glitter paint. These finished paintings are on display in the classroom. |
